“Skinjectables”

Skincare is an essential part of maintaining a healthy, youthful appearance. With so many different skin care lines on the market, it can be challenging to determine which works best for you. Luckily, there are a few key factors that you should look for when selecting quality skincare products.

First, select products designed specifically for your skin type (e.g., dry, oily, combination). This will help ensure you get the highest quality results from your skincare routine. You don’t have to go overboard! We have simple to more advanced practices, and the good news is that if you’re committed to getting facials, peels, lasers, etc., you can be a little more flexible with your at-home skin care regimen. I tell patients that if they don’t want to “lean” on someone like myself or an aesthetician, topical options are a great way to keep your skin in great shape! Most of you know I’m a fan of ZO® Skin Health skin care, and patients get great results when they know how to use it.

Another critical step in achieving healthy skin is to get injections regularly. Injections such as collagen and hyaluronic acid reduce wrinkles and give your face a more youthful appearance by restoring lost volume and elasticity to the skin. The frequency of injections will differ depending on individual needs – some may require frequent treatments, such as Botox or Dysport. In contrast, others may only need occasional maintenance injections, like the new toxin, Daxxify, and fillers. An appointment with someone like myself or your favorite dermatologist is recommended. Consider it education, not necessarily a thing you have to commit to! Online consults are available if you have questions about what to use and where to find it if distance is an issue.

Skinjectables

Collagen-stimulating products and hyaluronic acid injections offer several benefits for maintaining youthful-looking skin. Collagen boosters such as PRF, bio gel, Sculptra, and Radiesse help repair damaged tissue in the dermis layer of the skin. In contrast, Dermal filler, such as RHA, Juvederm, Versa, and Restylane, increase moisture levels within the skin’s cells, giving them more elasticity and volume. These injectables often work together to create smoother features and diminish facial wrinkles or lines.

It is essential to know how your skin responds after each treatment so you can adjust accordingly if necessary or repeat treatments if they are working well. Some signs that an injection has been successful include the improved texture of the skin, increased hydration, fewer visible lines or wrinkles, increased volume of facial features such as cheekbones or lips, or a reduction in sagging jowls around the jawline area. People will start to compliment your makeup, hair, or overall look. It is the best indirect feedback that what you’re doing is working!

Finally, there are several ways you can enhance your results from skincare routines and injection regimens, including using quality SPF protection every day; wearing protective hats when spending time outdoors; avoiding smoking; eating a healthy diet filled with fruits & vegetables; drinking plenty of water and green tea; limiting alcohol consumption; exercising regularly; and getting enough sleep at night. I know. You’ve heard it all before, but help me help you! All of these habits promote overall good health but also help maintain beautiful-looking skin.
